√ Prado the Great

Edgar Prado is number one in my book.  Classy doesn’t get any clasier than this as he hands the lost reins to another jockey at a full run and they’re coming into the first turn.  Look at the loose horse’s head closely and you’ll notice he’s thinking of going right instead of left because the exit to the barns is coming up.  Remember, this is the great Jockey who rode the magical Barbaro.  The other jockey, Javier Castellano lost his reins during the race and Edgar reaches the reins with his whip and gently pushes them back so Javier could grab them again.  I’ve seen the side camera view but I couldn’t find the clip.

Proves one thing again, ‘It’s not how the race was won in life but it’s how the race was run that matters the most.’  The WiseGuy

The End

“The best part of life starts at the head of the stretch.”
